From the list in the previous post my group and I were to come up with as many ideas for games, and game mechanics as possible with a minimum of 50 ideas to be seen and/or presented to our teacher. Justin, Jamal, and I started the Blue Sky exercise together for an hour one morning in class over cheerios and had to finish them separately. Despite the loss of my notes here is what I came up with and what I can remember from the class.
Using the sticky raspberry yogurt to stick to, or stick things to walls, ceilings, platforms
The player is a cook on a space ship, for some reason the gravity goes out on the ship and the
ships' provisions are floating everywhere. In order to save them, the cook, the player, must use your modified laser gun to shoot sticky raspberry yogurt to move around by sticking to it and use it to "grab" the provisions.
Another idea is a puzzle game where each key piece has its own gravity well. One example would be that the player has a yellow object and wants to connect it to the other yellow object they must shoot or throw or move it so that it doesn’t connect to the red piece, which has a stronger gravity well.
Classic game where you hurl things at the offices designated jerk.
Create an Interactive murder mystery, maybe a point-and-click.
Player is free-falling and has to collect things.
Use Smell, the player tracks using smell with a graphic to indicate the smell.
Person or animal is stealing a freshly made pie.
“I keel you!” Going Postal: The Game
Hat Master
Hat Creator
Serial Killer Simulator
Martial Arts Master who uses a hat as a weapon, like Kung Lao from Mortal Kombat, to journey to avenge his village/city/tribe/family
Journalists
Player is a journalist in a game.
Player is a journalist who must track down a mass murderer who wears a hat, eats sticky yogurt, hates small oranges, reads the newspaper, and in the end turns out to be that idiot from corporate to the surprise of everyone but the player and who uses gravity to kill his victims.
Seed Spitting
A flower spits out seeds.
Create an environmentally friendly game where the player is a flower, fruit, or plant that shoots seeds to be planted, or is a flower that shoots pollen to feed bees.
Gardening Simulator in space or on alien planet.
Use gravity, or lack thereof, to maneuver objects around an area to complete a task or use them when placed correctly.
